Activity Therapist - PRN Status

Job Title: Activity Therapist

Reports To: Outpatient Program Manager

Northpoint Recovery Holdings, LLC, established in 2009, is a growing, behavioral healthcare treatment platform treating adults with substance use disorder and co-occurring conditions under the Northpoint Recovery brand and adolescents with mental healthcare conditions under the Imagine by Northpoint brand. The Company serves patients with commercial health insurance and is an in-network model. Northpoint has grown from two facilities to fifteen today entirely on a de novo basis with plans to expand rapidly in both existing and new markets. POSITION SUMMARY: As a member of the Northpoint Recovery team, the Activity Therapist is responsible for providing activity-based group sessions, risk assessments, case management services, orientation, and discharge planning to clients.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Case staffing
  • Project based group facilitation; music, art, recreation, mindfulness, skill building
  • Professional and timely documentation
  • Consultation with the multi-disciplinary treatment team and other clinical professionals
  • Review of case record maintenance
  • Treatment planning
  • Case management
  • Risk assessment and Crisis Intervention
  • Discharge planning
  • Administrative support
  • Biopsychosocial assessments
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with established policies and procedures and standards of care
  • Other clinically appropriate services and special projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree of Social Sciences preferred
  • Minimum 1 year experience in relevant field required
  • An understanding of and adherence to the ethical standards of the respective license adopted by the governing board for licensure
  • Adherence to Compliance Program Plan

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS:

  • Must maintain current and nationally accredited CPR/First Aid/AED certification

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must have reasonable ability to stand, walk, sit, handle, feel, reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk, hear, taste and smell
  • Must be able to lift up to 20lbs
  • Exposure to disturbed and potentially aggressive patients is possible. Stress ranges from low to intense depending on the situation

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Completion of a tuberculin screening during the first week of employment
  • Completion of a pre-employment drug screening, post-accident, and upon reasonable suspicion of use
  • Completion of orientation and required paperwork before reporting to work
  • Demonstrated computer literacy
  • Completion of CPR/First Aid Training within the first 90 days of employment
  • Attendance at all mandatory staff development and training
  • Completion of background and professional reference checks
  • Completion of a Motor Vehicle Record check

Status: PRN

Pay: $22.00 - $ 30.00 per hour
