Northpoint Recovery Holdings, LLC, established in 2009, is a growing, behavioral healthcare treatment platform treating adults with substance use disorder and co-occurring conditions under the Northpoint Recovery brand and adolescents with mental healthcare conditions under the Imagine by Northpoint brand. The Company serves patients with commercial health insurance and is an in-network model. Northpoint has grown from two facilities to fifteen today entirely on a de novo basis with plans to expand rapidly in both existing and new markets. POSITION SUMMARY: As a key member of the Northpoint team, the Counselor will oversee the therapeutic services provided to a caseload of patients. This individual will act as the treatment plan coordinator for the multi-disciplinary team in the development and implementation of the master treatment plan and the discharge plan for each patient. The Counselor will provide individual, group and family therapy for assigned patients, as required by contractual and licensure obligations. This person will actively communicate with support staff, treatment teams, and outside agencies on treatment and safety issues pertaining to patients and their family members. The Counselor will complete all documentation associated with these duties in a professional and timely manner.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Provide counseling, assessments and group facilitation to individuals and families
  • Coordinate all aspects of direct clinical care from admission to discharge
  • Consult with the multidisciplinary treatment team to provide quality patient care
  • Provide orientation and education to patients, families and others to aid in the therapeutic process
  • Collaborate with assigned patients in the development of written treatment plans; include patient and family involvement in assessment, treatment, education and discharge planning
  • Monitor patients on an ongoing basis to continually assess needs and facilitate treatment and interventions
  • Document clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment plan, diagnostic summaries, and progress charting in a timely manner to assure comprehensive and quality patient care
  • Actively participate as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team and maintain effective working relationships with employees and peers
  • Maintain professional boundaries with patients at all times
  • Oversee and participate in the quality assurance and compliance activities of the facility
  • Provide clinical updates to utilization review and representatives of managed care to best coordinate reimbursement of treatment services
  • Coordinate with community based providers and referral sources to ensure optimal levels of care and treatment outcomes, post discharge
  • Case staffing and individual case supervision
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with established policies and procedures and standards of care
  • Other clinically appropriate services and special projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION:

  • Master’s Degree of Mental Health, Social Sciences or commensurate experience required
  • Must hold an active substance abuse or mental health licensure in the state where treatment services are rendered
  • Must maintain applicable state licensure requirements at hire, and for the entire duration of employment
  • Minimum of 1 (one) year experience in relevant field
  • Ability to work with a diverse population and possess strong interpersonal skills and knowledge required for treating patients assigned
  • Must hold strong personal boundaries and able to build rapport with patiens
  • Must understand and adhere to the ethical standards of the respective licensure governing board

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS:

  • Must hold an active substance abuse or mental health licensure in the state where treatment services are rendered
  • Must maintain applicable state licensure requirements at hire, and for the entire duration of employment
  • LCSW, LMSW, LCPC, LPC, LMFT or CADC
  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age
  • Must maintain current nationally accredited CPR/First Aid/AED certification
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and safe driving record

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work environment is a residential inpatient treatment facility. Exposure to emotionally impaired patients will be frequent. Stress ranges from low to high depending on the situation
  • Must have the reasonable ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, feel, reach, balance, stoop, kneel, talk, and hear. Must be reasonably capable of lifting fifteen (15) pounds
  • Indoor treatment setting and office environment
  • Use of a mouse and keyboard

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Completion of a tuberculin screening during first week of employment
  • Completion of a pre-employment drug screening, post-accident and upon reasonable suspicion of use
  • Completion of new employee orientation and required paperwork prior to reporting to work, including acknowledgment of all Company policies
  • Demonstrated computer literacy
  • Completion of CPR/First Aid Training within first 90 days of employment
  • Attendance at all mandatory staff development and training
  • Completion of background and professional reference checks
  • Completion of a Motor Vehicle Record check

Compensation:

  • $30.00 to $42.00 per hour + Shift Differentials
